TO Dr. Harrison Wells <harrison.wells@starlabs.com>;
Harrison,

I'm not interested in playing your games at the moment and I have even less interest in walking into a trap. So I'll have to politely decline your offer to 'discuss' the results of the DNA samples you decided to steal from us. As I'm sure you can understand, this is a highly personal matter that I'd prefer to be left between my associate and myself. Please respect our privacy and do not make any attempts to contact my associate as he has no relevance to any grievances we have against each other.

But by all means, I hope you'll feel free to go fuck yourself.

[ Very mature, Hartley. ]

Well that definitely gets the message across.

[Hey, he did a pretty decent job at keeping it mature until the end there.]

I should hope so. I can't believe he had the nerve to email me.

[personal profile] socialactivillain 2015-05-15 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
At least he sent the results. Assuming they aren't tampered with.

[personal profile] timetopaythepiper 2015-05-15 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
He only sent the results because he wants to mess with our heads. He didn't do it out of the kindness of his heart.
socialactivillain: (for the homeless man)

[personal profile] socialactivillain 2015-05-15 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't doubt it. But I still want to take a look at them.

[personal profile] timetopaythepiper 2015-05-15 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not telling you not to. I just think I should still run the tests myself. Make sure the results he sent us aren't a load of crap.

[personal profile] timetopaythepiper 2015-05-15 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
And then we need to get you home and you need to stay there until Harrison loses interest.
socialactivillain: (never get to fall in love)

[personal profile] socialactivillain 2015-05-15 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Yeah, that's totally gonna happen. ]

Could you forward me the results in the meantime?
timetopaythepiper: (pic#8831771)

[personal profile] timetopaythepiper 2015-05-15 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'll do it now. Give me a sec.

[He takes out his phone and sends Piper the results. He's really hoping this will satisfy Piper's curiosity enough that he won't do anything stupid.]

Okay, it should be in your email.
socialactivillain: (for the homeless man)

[personal profile] socialactivillain 2015-05-15 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Piper's really good at doing stupid things, though. At least he's equally good at turning stupid things into something useful. Usually. ]

Thanks.

[ He opens the email on his phone and sets about looking through the results. When he's sure Hartley's not looking, he also saves Wells' contact information. ]

[personal profile] timetopaythepiper 2015-05-16 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
[This is probably going to end badly, but for now Hartley thinks Piper has enough common sense not to try to talk to a psychopath.]

You're welcome. And I'm sorry your DNA was stolen. If you want, I can find out where he's staying at the moment and do some damage there too.

TO Dr. Harrison Wells <harrison.wells@starlabs.com>;
Dr. Wells,

Thank you for sending the results to us directly. It saves Hartley the time of having to collect samples again, though that wouldn't have been an issue had they not been stolen in the first place. And despite his strongly worded response to your initial email, I actually would be interested in the chance to meet with you in person. However, I'm sure you can understand why I'm hesitant to meet you at S.T.A.R. Labs, what with you and your colleagues' unfortunate habit of illegally imprisoning people there. Is there somewhere else we could meet?

I'm on my phone so lol if there are any html errors pretend you can't see them.

[ Half passive-aggressive, half letting him know that he's more than willing to let people know what's happening. He may understand first hand how dangerous meta criminals can be, but that doesn't make him disapprove of their methods of imprisonment any less. ]

Dr. Wells,

I'll be stopping by Jitters shortly, if you could find the time in you schedule to meet me there. I'm sure meeting in a public place would put both our minds at ease with regards to this situation.

[ Piper's there first. He did what he set out to do— traced his steps from the previous day, hoping to cross back over to home, but no such luck. He texts Hartley telling him he's going to stay out awhile longer to see if he comes up with anything, because the last thing he wants to admit to him right now is what he's really doing.

He's surprised when he sees Wells come in. He was expecting someone younger, but in retrospect, his actual age makes more sense. He sizes him up as he wheels in, not quite sure what this meeting is going to bring. But he has his flute and tuning fork close at hand, just in case. He hopes it won't come to that.
]

Dr. Wells. Please, feel free to call me Henry.

[ He takes a moment to sip his tea and further study Wells. There's something he can't quite put his finger on about him, and he's curious to find out just exactly what it is. ]

It certainly has.

[ Likewise, he's in no rush for anything but a friendly chat. The longer they stick to the pretense of small talk, the less likely things are to get out of hand, though Piper gets the distinct impression that Harrison Wells is not a man who likes things out of his control when he can help it. He's known a lot of people like that. ]

He's well. Destroying your house a second time was very cathartic for him.

[ He's trying really hard not to roll his eyes at Wells' fake interest. It's pretty obvious, but he assumes Wells means it to be. ]

[ He isn't actually that similar to Hartley in disposition usually, but he figures maybe Henry Darrow can be. He'd be much more honestly polite had he not heard some truly upsetting things about Wells. ]

He still ultimately got out of your Pipeline, so in the long run, I don't think he counted it as a failure the first time around.
